Without Profane Linguistic[]
Reading the note without Profane Linguistic affliction possessed by Constance Driftwood will result in the below description:
(The words are scrawled in an ancient, angular script. More geometry than language. Precious few mortals could understand it.) |

With Profane Linguistic[]
The book version is always translated, and doesn't require Profane Linguistic.
It was the power of the Dreaming Tree that we sensed below the sands as we made our journey to Somnolence, but it was the Shard we found in the ruins that granted us access to the Ancient magics. The Gelsinnig runes, lost to time, were here laid out and identified, and though the translation was the work of many dreamings, we were able to decipher their meanings. We now know that Somnolence is but one of many Gelsinnig sites beneath the soil of the West, and with the knowledge of their language unlocked, the Ancients' secrets will soon be laid bare. |
