Nimpossible Mode is a perma-death game mode that was added to Weird West as part of Patch 1.04.
Details[]
In Nimpossible Mode, death is permanent and only a single auto-save is available. However, the Protagonists can use Nimp Heads to resurrect themselves. Once they run out of Nimp Heads, the playthrough is over and the auto-save file is deleted.
General Tips[]
- One of the biggest priorities in Nimpossible mode is to make sure the protagonists always have Nimp heads available.
- There is one Nimp head in each starting location of each journey: Dread Slough, Hunting Territory, Absolution Hall, Somnolence, and Jane Bell is given one shortly after she leaves Bell Stead. Don't pick up those Nimp head intended for future protagonists as that will make them vulnerable.
- Do not kill the Wraith at the end of the Mysterious Deaths quest. Doing so will disable the ability to resurrect.
- It's possible to stash equipment and consumables in each starting location of future protagonists.
- Get a Horse as early as possible to avoid unwanted/difficult Random Encounters. There are encounters that cannot be skipped but it's still possible to hop on the horses and run away.
- Once dead, the protagonists can choose when and where they will be resurrected. Use this mechanic to gain favorable positions: moving out of harm's way or appearing behind enemies. However, the time frame for the resurrection is limited and the protagonists automatically come back to life once this duration is over.
- Entering the pause menu triggers autosave. Do this to save the game before quitting instead of using Alt+F4.
- Dig up the graves of past heroes to regain Nimp Heads and other items.
Trivia[]
- In Nimpossible Mode, the protagonists can be seen carrying a large Nimp Head on their back. During the game's intro sequence, someone is shown carrying a Nimp Head in this fashion.
- People will react when the Protagonists come back to life, calling it black magic.
