Monte Clasp is a Sheriff's Deputy in Grackle and a possible Companion. He moved to the West after he lost his farm to a fire.
After what the Stillwaters have done to Grackle, Monte has been itching to take revenge, and can be talked into joining Jane Bell during her journey. Monte is a rightous and upstanding person. When trying to find information regarding Alonso, if Jane chooses to help Galen Weeks, Monte might leave her posse as he considers her choice immoral. Monte also has a close relationship with Flora Albright. If he dies while traveling with Jane, Flora will send a relay, saying she loves "that idiot like a brother".
In later journeys, he continues to work as Grackle's deputy and can be recruited again. He can usually be found guarding the gun shop.
