Mine Crawlers were once miners who dug too deep, found a breach into another world, and were possessed by spirits. They became grotesque, mindless creatures that keep on digging for gold for eternity.[1] They can be found in mines, especially places that look charred and smokey, defending their hoards of gold with dynamites.
Combat Tips[]
- Mine Crawlers have three attacks: throwing one dynamite, throwing several dynamites around them in rapid succession, and a suicide attack.
- Stay close to the water as their dynamites will be snuffed out. Break water barrels or shoot at water towers to create more water puddles. This tactic, however, won't prevent their suicide attacks.
- Shooting the dynamites they hold would kill them instantly. This is very difficult to do, however, and enabling tactic mode is highly recommended.
- They can be stealthily knocked out and flashbangs can also stun them.
Trivia[]
- Mine Crawlers sometimes drop Pasty, a type of food associated with real-life Cornish miners. Its description says "Back in the Old Home, miners used to toss their leftover crusts into the tunnels for the spirits.", which is a reference to a real Cornish custom.
- Mine Crawlers also drop bronze, silver, and gold ores.
