Marked Boy is a minor character that appears in the Howling Hatch Random Encounter.
Biography[]
A group of Absolutionist clerics discovered the boy, who has a certain mark on his body and proclaimed him the Marked Wolf from the Blood Moon prophecy. Cleric Franciscus, however, did not believe this to be true and banished the group and the boy from the Church. Since then, they move into the basement of a ruined mansion and started to perform the Lunar Pact ritual and turn people into werewolves.[1] The werewolves, for some unknown reasons, became sick and slowly died. Sometime later, the Marked Boy and his clerics also perished due to unknown causes.
Weird West[]
When the Protagonist discovers the ruined mansion, they can find the body of the Marked Boy sitting on a silver throne, surrounded by the dead clerics and wolves. Interacting with his body in any way and a wraith will appear and turn all the corpses into zombies.
In his personal note, Franciscus regarded the boy and his faction as "blinded" and "impatient" but prayed to Gavan that they're safely shepherded in the afterlife.
Trivia[]
- In the Howling Hatch encounter, there is a unique painting of a boy, flanked by two men. They are possibly the Marked Boy and two of the former Absolutionist clerics.
- In a small room adjacent to the throne room, there are some toys that presumably belonged to the boy.
