Weird West Wiki

The Lost Fire Nation is a tribe of Weird West. Across Rivers is a warrior of the tribe, who bears the title "Protector".

Details[]

  • Lost Fire Nation has its own way of enforcing the law with Protectors acting as sheriff of a sort. If Across Rivers is wanted in any of the Lost Fire Nation villages, the Protectors will capture and banish him to a location in the wild, which is similar to serving time in jail. After that, Across Rivers can come back to the villages but people will treat him with hostility.

Trivia[]

  • The Lost Fire Nation is based on Anishinaabeg people who had to migrate west due to colonization.
  • One of the idle dialogues mentions the Nation being "pushed west by zhaaganaashag". Zhaaganaashag is an Anishinaabemowin word for "Englishman" or "colonizer".
  • They refer to magic as "medicine", and magic users as "medicine manipulators".
  • Lost Fire people carry with them stories from allied nations who were driven out of Weird West by colonizers. These stories recount temples beneath the land, and "imbalanced medicine" that trapped spirits inside objects.[1]
  • In their graveyards, native people have burial houses instead of normal graves.
  • During The Plague event, Zombies don't come back to life from Lost Fire burial grounds.
  • Lost Fire Nation does not like the Dagger & Bones because they kill animals not out of necessity, but to sell hides and parts.
