Lone Wolf is a missable side quest in Weird West. This quest is part of the main quest to find Leila Vidrio during the Werewolf Journey, thus if Leila has already been found, this quest won't be available and no one is killed in Grackle.
Walkthrough[]
Go to the intersection in Grackle and Dezi can find two werewolf hunters, one of them was murdered. Talking to the other hunter and agreeing to go to his home will start this quest. If Dezi tells him that he's also a werewolf and then refuses to back down, Dezi will have to kill the hunter, thus failing the quest.
Travel to the hunter's farmstead (a random location near Grackle) and talk to him. He reveals that he has a Gold Gowser Service Rifle and will give it away if Dezi can kill the werewolf. Go with him to the basement and Dezi can decide to whether kill the werewolf or free them and fight the hunter.
In order to completely this quest non-lethally, Dezi can knock out the hunter before entering the basement. Even if Dezi doesn't talk to him, sneak into the basement, and rescue the werewolf, the hunter would appear there and turn hostile. In this case, Dezi needs to use other means to subdue him.
Outcomes[]
- If Dezi saves the werewolf, they will be united with their partner in Absolution Hall. News article A Wolf of Gavan's Hounds, Rescued from Dire Captivity and Certain Death is published by the Western Gazette.
- If Dezi doesn't rescue the werewolf or kill them himself, another news article titled One of Gavan's Hounds Found Murdered! is published.
- If Dezi kill both the werewolf and the hunter, Local Hunter Discovered to be Depraved Murderer! Unknown Hero Ends Killing Spree, But Fails to Save Latest Victim! is published instead.
Trivia[]
- Ironically, the werewolf hunter can be turned into a werewolf. Knock him out while he's still outside, put a wolfsbane clipping in his inventory, and kill his wolf with a silver melee weapon. The hunter will wake up, become a werewolf, but isn't hostile nor has any special dialogue.
- The heads of two werewolves and a pigman are mounted on the basement wall.
- Freeing the werewolf gives the Loyalty to the Pack achievement.
