Friend for Life is a gameplay mechanic opposite of Vendetta where characters who are indebted to the protagonists might appear to aid them during combat. A character might become a "friend for life" if the protagonists saved their lives or helped them out of bad situations. A friend for life is marked on the map by a yellow iconw with two hands clasping.
Notes[]
- After traveling with the protagonists for a certain amount of time and being dismissed from the posse, companions might also become friends for life.
- However, if all weapons were taken from their inventories before dismissing them, they will showing up bare-handed and are quite useless in combat.
- Friends for life can be "inherited" from past protagonists if they are part of the posse.
- Contrary to the term, friends for life actually don't stay being friends if they are harmed by the protagonists. There are cases where they might even start a vendetta if they are wronged.
