Bounties are posted on bounty boards in many locations in Weird West. If the protagonists committed serious crimes, it's possible for them to end up on bounty boards though they cannot take on their own bounty.

Targets can either be killed or taken alive, with the latter required them to be incapacitated and then handcuffed. While captured, the targets will follow the protagonists but are defendless against monsters and other hostiles. Turning in a bounty alive will yields better rewards but the bounty has a 15% chance of escaping imprisonment and will start a Vendetta against the protagonist.

Notes[]

  • Most of the time, the targets, locations, and rewards are procedural generated, saved for a few story-related bounties.
  • During the 'Highway Robbery' Random Encounter, if the protagonist gave the outlaws money or a quest item, the leader of the gang might end up on a bounty board with a remark "Face seems awful familiar". The protagonist can take this opportunity to regain the lost money or item.
  • It's possible to capture a bounty alive even during open combat by using blunt weapons, or stunning them, then move in and knock them out.
